British artist Rosalind Wise creates fresh, lively large-format paintings of gardens, meadows, and other natural vistas. Many of her works are inspired by the glorious garden borders found in the United Kingdom. I love the contrast of colour, texture and form found in garden borders, she notes. I have also been inspired by the garden borders at Great Dixter designed by the late Christopher Lloyd. It is the colour combinations, their energy, scale and beauty, that I have tried to capture and emulate.

The two paintings reproduced in this notecard selection transport us to a sunny, peaceful day in a beautiful English garden.
